Ideagen Maritime Technical Service Bulletin
Purpose
This Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) is intended to inform users of Maritime Health about specific measures and best practices to improve the performance of the software. These recommendations are based on user feedback and internal testing.
Description of Issue
Several customers have reported performance-related issues such as slow page load times. Our engineering teams will be focusing on improving performance hotspots in upcoming versions. In the interim, our operations team has provided the following actions that customers can directly take to help improve performance on current versions.
Recommended Actions
- To ensure optimal performance and stability of our software, Ideagen recommends the following minimum system specifications based on fleet size. Please ensure that virtual disks are pre-allocated according to your organization’s needs.
| Fleet Size | Disk Storage | RAM | CPU Cores |
| Large (25+) | 1000 GB | 32 GB | 8 |
| Medium (16-25) | 500 - 1000 GB | 24 GB | 6 |
| Small (1-15) | 500 GB | 16 GB | 4 |

Implement a Record Retention Policy:
Establish a record retention policy to regularly purge records that are no longer needed. This practice will help reduce overall storage requirements, improve system efficiency, and maintain optimal performance. For assistance in setting up an effective retention policy, feel free to reach out to our support team.
-
Consolidate VMware Snapshots:
If using VMware, we advise consolidating snapshots periodically. An excessive number of snapshots can create delta VMDK files, which may impact disk performance. More detailed guidance is available directly from VMware at the following links:
